Project Overview
Through surveys, open houses, and interviews with community leaders, Great Rivers Greenway learned in a 2024 listening tour of North St. Louis County that community members expressed strong interest in access to new and expanded greenways.
One area North County residents recommended for expanded greenway access was Hazelwood’s Harry S. Truman Park, where Great Rivers Greenway completed a .3-mile segment in 2005. An exploration of possible extensions will be guided by community participation in 2026 as we will work to learn what the Hazelwood community thinks about an extended greenway that provides better pedestrian access for walkers, runners, and cyclists.
