Centennial Greenway: Vernon Avenue between Heman Park and Ackert Walkway

Project Overview

Great Rivers Greenway and St. Louis County are partnering to build an extension of the Centennial Greenway along Vernon Avenue in conjunction with the county’s planned roadway resurfacing, sidewalk and traffic improvements in University City. This collaboration will not only advance the overall plan for the Centennial Greenway, but also significantly reduce costs and accelerate the project timeline.

Project Location

This project will stretch approximately .75 miles between Heman Park and Ackert Walkway along Vernon Avenue in University City.

Current Status

With input from Great Rivers Greenway, St. Louis County has created a preliminary design for their street resurfacing project and the greenway. A meeting for area stakeholders is scheduled for November 13, 2024. Stay tuned for more information about an open house in early 2025.
