Join us in Wildwood! You will walk a flat gravel trail to discover a miniature railroad, the Meramec River, a variety of birds, and more. A turnback option is available for a shorter walk.

Al Foster Memorial Trailhead

Enjoy a 1 hour open-air narrow gauge train ride along the scenic Meramec Greenway. Group size limited. Train rides at 9am, 10:30am, and 12pm. Registration is free and required. Click here to register.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Spaces are limited for this free train ride on the Wabash Frisco and Pacific miniature train. If you are unable to attend the event after you register, please cancel your reservation so someone else can use that spot. We want to have a full train of fun!

Meramec Greenway Trailhead: Al Foster Trail, Grand Avenue, Wildwood, MO, USA

From Highway 109, go east on Old State Road. Take an immediate right on Washington Avenue. Continue for 0.4 mile (Washington Ave becomes Grand Ave). The Al Foster Trailhead will be the third public parking lot on your left (before the train depot at the end of the road).

Join the St. Louis Audubon Society for a guided beginner bird walk along the Meramec Greenway. Meet others who share your interest in nature, birds, and wildlife! All experience levels welcome. Bring binoculars, they will have a few extra pairs to borrow if you don’t have your own.

The bird walk is free, but all participants must register in advance at the St. Louis Audubon Society website. Click here to register.
