Stormwater BMP Maintenance Training 2026

Join us for a hands-on, outdoor training series focused on the real-world maintenance of stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs).

These interactive, 2-hour sessions are designed for industry professionals who want to strengthen their understanding of how to properly inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot critical stormwater systems. Participants will gain practical field experience working directly with systems such as Permeable pavement, Stormwater detention system, and Bioretention areas, along with other green infrastructure practices. All trainings begin at 9am and run through 11am. Registration for each training will open up approximately 30 days prior to the training date.

There will be a Spanish language interpreter at the May 20 Workshop in Brentwood Park.

This training will highlight the differences between permeable pavement systems and proper maintenance techniques for each. Topic will include sediment management, the value of preventative maintenance and how routine vacuuming supports infiltration and extends pavement life. Participants will also visit nearby rain gardens to discuss plant identification and maintenance practices.
