April 15, 2026 Stormwater BMP Workshop in Forest Park
This session will focus on how bioretention and bio basins function to capture and treat stormwater runoff. Participants will learn to identify key components, from engineered soils and vegetation to inlet and overflow structures and understand how each part supports system performance. Hands-on topics will include plant cutbacks, soil management, and replanting strategies to keep basins functioning effectively and looking their best. This class will be led by Laura Bell, horticulturist with Forest Park Forever.
Location in Forest Park: We will meet on Clayton Avenue, on the south side of Jefferson Lake, near the entrances to the Planetarium and Highlands Golf and Tennis Facility. Use this pinned location to navigate to the meetup spot. https://maps.app.goo.gl/SYPq7JsqEwzbYaQw9
