Western Greenway: Babler State Park, Wild Horse Creek Rd to Rieger Rd

Project Overview

This Western Greenway project will create a 1.25-mile trail in Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park in unincorporated St. Louis County, neighboring the City of Wildwood. Trail plans for the Western Greenway in Babler State Park were nearly completed in late 2014, but never constructed. Great Rivers Greenway, along with Missouri State Parks and The City of Wildwood, are revisiting these plans to determine their feasibility. The greenway will utilize existing trails where possible and connect to Babler State Park amenities.

Project Location

With over 2400 acres, Babler is the “flagship park” for the Missouri State Park system in the St. Louis region. The proposed trail will connect existing trails in the park and make connections to existing parking lots, picnic areas, recreational fields, playgrounds, and camping areas.
