Project Overview
This is the last section of greenway needed to close the gap between the northern and southern sections of the existing St. Vincent Greenway. When complete, The St. Vincent Greenway will extend 7 miles from the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus all the way to Forest Park!
Project Location
At its southern end, this 1.69 mile greenway segment starts at the former Eskridge High School site at the corner of Sutter Ave and Plymouth Ave. It runs through the residential neighborhood just south of Page Ave before turning north on Kingsland Ave and then west along Page Ave through the Pagedale Town Center developments. At Ferguson Ave, the greenway heads north until City Hall, where it will run through the City’s recreational fields before heading up 70th St and connecting into St. Charles Rock Road.

Current Status

Thanks to the input and feedback from the Pagedale community, we identified the route for the greenway from the former Eskridge High School site to St. Charles Rock Road in 2019 and early 2020. This project has been awarded $5.25 million in federal funds and will be completed in partnership with St. Louis County Department of Transportation and Missouri Department of Transportation. Construction will happen in three phases beginning in summer 2025 (See map):
- Phase 1: St. Louis County Department of Transportation will be resurfacing Ferguson Ave. At the same time, they will build the greenway along Ferguson Ave. between Page and St. Charles Rock Road. Visit the St. Louis County website to learn more. This work will begin in summer 2025.
- Phase 2: Missouri Department of Transportation will build the greenway along Page Ave, between Kingsland and Ferguson Ave.. This is expected to be bid in August 2025.
- Phase 3: In late 2025, Great Rivers Greenway will bid the final two sections of greenway needed to close the gap. Designs for the section from the former Eskridge High School site to Page Ave. and the section from Pagedale City Hall, across the City’s recreational fields to 70th St. and north to Page Ave. are complete.
The $5.25 million in federal funding include American Rescue Act Plan Funding (ARPA) and Surface Transportation Program – Suballocated (STP-S).
