Brickline Greenway: Market Street from 22nd to Compton Ave.
Project Overview
Great Rivers Greenway, City of St. Louis and Harris-Stowe State University, along with community members and donors, are building a segment of the Brickline Greenway so that people can connect on foot, by bicycle, stroller, and/or wheelchair to the small businesses, major employers, schools and other destinations along the way.
Project Update
Construction of this segment is underway
Construction will begin in February 2025 to extend the greenway along the north side of Market St. between Jefferson Ave. and 22nd St. Westbound traffic will be impacted from roughly 22nd St. to Compton Ave. for the duration of the project. Market St. will remain open to through traffic. There may be impacts to cross streets as the project develops. If any disruptions are known or significant impacts are anticipated in the area, nearby businesses and property owners will be notified. Properties and local amenities along Market St. will remain accessible throughout the duration of construction. Please use caution and care throughout all work zones. Project construction is scheduled to be completed mid-2025.

This 0.85 mile segment will go along Market Street between St. Louis CITY SC’s CITYPARK Stadium at 22nd St. and Harris-Stowe State University at Compton Avenue.

This section of greenway is in construction! This project includes local sales tax funding and significant private investment.
This section will also include extensions of the work of Damon Davis for Pillars of the Valley, a permanent art installation to commemorate the Mill Creek Valley neighborhood. Learn more about this story here.
