Brickline Greenway – Home

More than a path.
It's a pulse.
The New York Times recently named the Brickline Greenway one of 7 Great Walks in 7 Great Cities.
Alongside Paris, Marrakesh, Seoul and other great cities, a two-mile stretch of the Brickline Greenway’s route through downtown St. Louis, including Pillars of the Valley, is highlighted. Read the article.
Discover how the Brickline Greenway is connecting St. Louis. Let’s imagine what a greenway can do for our city.
Picture a community space that transcends boundaries – a vibrant, open and welcoming network of paths and places that invite discovery and exploration while creating equitable opportunities for everyone to thrive. A visionary project shaped from the voices of the people who will use it each and every day. This is the Brickline Greenway.

Brickline Greenway is a major public-private partnership, with an anticipated total cost of $245 million.
$15 million will come from Great Rivers Greenway, which is funded through local sales tax dollars from a vote of the people. $75 million will come from other public funding sources, such as federal or state funds. $155 million will be raised from private, philanthropic donors.
As of Summer 2023, still in early stages of planning and design and before a fundraising campaign has even launched, the ambitious goal is nearly 40% funded:
– 100% of the local public investment is in place;
– 57% of the federal/state investment is secured;
– 23% of the philanthropic funding is already pledged or donated.
Great Rivers Greenway is working in tandem with dozens of partners to bring this project to life in the next 5-10 years.
