We submitted two projects for federal funding consideration through the regional planning agency, East-West Gateway Council of Governments. Our partners at the City of St. Peters also submitted a project that will reconstruct and upgrade a segment of the Centennial Greenway/Spencer Creek Trail in St. Charles County. East-West Gateway staff recommended these projects for approval. The East West Gateway Board of Directors will make their final decision on recommended projects at the August board meeting. You are invited to submit online comments about these projects through July 31, 2026. Your feedback can help guide their decision on which projects will receive funds. See the project descriptions below. It only takes a moment and is a great way to make sure your voice is heard!
Brickline Greenway: Market Street from Tucker Blvd to 4th Street in downtown St. Louis

We are seeking funds for a portion of the Brickline Greenway along the north side of Market Street in downtown St. Louis between Tucker Blvd and 4th Street. This project includes roadway reconfiguration, high visibility crosswalks, intersection safety upgrades, and updated signal timing. This will not only create space for the greenway, but also enhance safety for greenway visitors and people driving on Market Street. Share your comments about the Brickline Greenway here.
Hodiamont Greenway: Gwen Giles Park to Goodfellow Blvd.

We are seeking funds for construction of the Hodiamont Greenway between Gwen Giles Park and Goodfellow Blvd. This will include a paved greenway, intersection safety improvements, high visibility pavement markings, raised mid-block crossings and improved lighting. This is the third phase of a multi-phase project that will connect seven neighborhoods in north St. Louis. Share your feedback about Hodiamont Greenway here.
PARTNER PROJECT– City of St. Peters: Spencer Creek Trail/Centennial Greenway

Our partners at the City of St. Peters are working to upgrade the existing Spencer Creek Trail to make it part of the Centennial Greenway. They are seeking funding to reconstruct and widen an existing trail segment between Boone Hills Drive and Mexico Road, replace two 4-foot bridges with wider structures, install a high visibility pedestrian signal at Boone Hills Dr, and realign segments to improve sight distance and drainage. The project will improve access to Fort Zumwalt East High School and Lutheran High Schools, and numerous City amenities (City Hall, Rec-Plex, and nearby parks).
