The 1.3-mile greenway extension from Great Rivers Greenway and City of Olivette is ready for visitors!

Together with our partners City of Olivette, we invite you to celebrate the new section of the Centennial Greenway on Saturday, May 3, 2025. The free event, happening at 1200 North Warson Road, is open to the public from 9-11 a.m. Refreshments will accompany brief remarks at 9:15am at the eastern end of Warson Park, followed by nature activities along the greenway.
With input from the community, partners built a 1.3-mile a new, paved, accessible greenway (path) linking Warson Park, Indian Meadows Park to Dielman Road, connecting both surrounding neighborhoods and Olivette’s Community Center, Five Oaks on Warson to walk, run, ride and roll.
“This is a huge step forward in bringing the Centennial Greenway to life with our wonderful partners in Olivette,” said Susan Trautman, retiring CEO for Great Rivers Greenway. “With the improvements under the I-170 interchange done and the railroad property acquired for the next section, we’re moving forward all around to make these critical connections for community members.”
The project also includes a new rain garden to help soak up, slow down and spread out stormwater. More than 300 native-to-Missouri trees and bushes are doing their part for healthy habitats along the way as well. This greenway follows River des Peres, which originates in Warson Park before heading south.
“Both the greenway trail and the conservation projects are a great addition to this area for Olivette residents, workers and visitors alike to enjoy,” said Mayor Sidney Clark, City of Olivette. “These new assets and being connected to the network of greenways once again prove we’re in the center of it all.”
Community members from across the region are invited to join the celebration for the 9:15 a.m. remarks and then nature activities along the greenway from 9:30 to 11 a.m. including:
