In 2014, Great Rivers Greenway undertook an effort to execute a feasibility study on the concept of bringing a Bike Share program to the St. Louis region; cities like New York or Denver are enjoying these systems, where people can rent and return bicycles for short term use. We are pleased to present a thoughtful and thorough report, produced by all of the good work the community did this year. If you filled out a survey, attended an open house or served on our advisory committee, thank you! The plan studied everything from possible locations to business plans to operational models in other cities. You can download the entire results here.
Now that the feasibility study is complete, the next step is exploring models for a solid operational plan with multiple partners. There are many options to consider in determining what will work best for St. Louis! We’re reaching out to partners across the region to understand the most effective models for a collaborative operation. As always, we’ll keep you updated through our enewsletter, website and social media.
The entire effort, including maps and links to systems in other cities is documented online. Take a look at St. Louis Bike Share!
