Brickline Greenway is a major public-private partnership, with an anticipated total cost of $245 million.
$18 million will come from Great Rivers Greenway, which is funded through local sales tax dollars from a vote of the people. $75 million will come from other public funding sources, such as federal or state funds. $152 million will be raised from private, philanthropic donors.
As of October 2025, the ambitious goal is 63% funded:
– 100% of the local public investment is in place;
– 79% of the federal/state investment is secured;
– 51% of the philanthropic funding is already pledged or donated.
Great Rivers Greenway is working in tandem with dozens of partners to bring this project to life in the coming years, finishing in 2030.
