Project Overview:
The one half acre Katherine Ward Burg Garden along the Mississippi Greenway is designed to create a flexible and welcoming open space to attract visitors between the Arch Grounds and Laclede’s Landing. The amenities include a trellis, sloping paths and a seating wall that can be used for special events and programming. The garden includes a mix of native plants that will not only benefit pollinators but also add beauty for visitors. This project was funded in part by a generous bequest from the Estate of Katherine Ward Burg along with Great Rivers Greenway funds.
Project Location: Burg Garden is located on Laclede’s Landing. It is bordered by North 1st street on the east, Lucas Avenue on the northern edge, the Mississippi Greenway (Commercial Alley) on the east and the Eads Bridge to the south.
