Centennial Greenway: Spencer Creek Trail Improvements

Project Description
The Spencer Creek Trail in the City of St. Peters follows the general route of Spencer Creek. Many sections of this trail were built decades ago and need replacement or significant repairs. Other sections do not meet Great Rivers Greenway’s design standards for greenways.

With the goal of extending the Centennial Greenway from McClay Road (at Harvester Church-The Nazarene) to the St. Peter’s City Centre, this project will upgrade portions of the existing Spencer Creek Trail to make this connection. Work will include widening the paved trail, new bridges, correcting the grade of the trail so it meets ADA accessibility guidelines, new signage, and other features consistent with Great Rivers Greenway standards. The project will be a partnership with Great Rivers Greenway and the City of St. Peters and will happen in multiple phases.

Project Location
The Spencer Creek trail stretches approximately 3.75 miles between McClay Road to Mexico Road at the St. Peters City Centre. This area includes the City Centre Park, Recreation Complex (Rex Plex) and City Hall.
