Thank you Brickline Greenway Volunteers!

More than 80 volunteers help clean up one mile section of future Brickline Greenway on North Grand

A big Great Rivers Greenway thank you to the more than 80 volunteers came together on June 11, 2022 for a community cleanup along the future route of the Brickline Greenway on North Grand in St. Louis. We joined forces with neighbors and business owners on the City’s north side to pick up trash along a one mile section of N. Grand from Natural Bridge to Cass. Volunteers ranged in ages from five on up and included an NFL football player!

Other partners on the event included the City of St. Louis, Covenant Blu Grand Center Neighborhood Association, Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club, Mission: St. Louis, Saints Teresa & Bridget Catholic Church and St. Alphonsus Rock Liguori Church.

The one mile cleanup area on N. Grand lies within the footprint of the future 2.16 mile Brickline Greenway Northern Connector that was awarded $15 Million in construction funds from United States Department of Transportation in November 2021. The funding is from the RAISE discretionary grant program (Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity) and will go toward the construction in 2025. The Brickline Northern segment spans four neighborhoods, connecting destinations like Fairground Park, Boys & Girls Club of St. Louis, Saint Louis University, City Foundry, churches, businesses and the busiest transit route in the MetroBus system.
