Protected path for walking and biking on 370 Discovery Bridge is complete

Construction of the new protected bicycle and pedestrian path on the westbound side of the MO 370 Discovery Bridge is complete! A concrete barrier now separates people on foot or bike from cars driving on 370, making it easier and safer for people to walk or ride a bike to connect to the Missouri Greenway: Earth City Levee and Bridgeton’s Riverwoods Park in St. Louis County and the Katy Trail and Boschert Greenway in St Charles County.

You can access the new walking and biking path via a paved connector from the Missouri Greenway: Earth City Levee just north of Highway 370 at the trailhead on Missouri Bottom Rd. In St. Charles County, you can connect to the bridge via a paved connection near the Katy Trail access in DuSable Park on the north side of 370 off N. River Rd.

If necessary, the barrier can be temporarily moved by a special “barrier transfer machine” and then set back in place.

The City of St. Charles was the lead partner on the project along with East West Gateway, Missouri Department of Transportation, the City of Bridgeton and Great Rivers Greenway.
