Join us this summer for the “Try the Greenways” Bicycle Ride Series

Short, easy-paced rides to explore greenways across the region.

Great Rivers Greenway has teamed up with Trailnet for a series of free “Try the Greenways” rides May 4th through September 28th.

Each week, Trailnet will lead a short (4-6 mile) easy-paced, evening bike ride on a paved trail in area greenways throughout the River Ring network. The rides will explore a different greenway every month in St. Louis City, St. Louis County or St. Charles County. Registration for each ride begins at 5:30pm and departs at 6pm.

The first ride in the series will take cyclists on a two- mile ride along the Centennial Greenway from Shaw Park to Olive and back to Shaw Park for a four-mile round trip. The other planned rides will let people try the Dardenne, River Des Peres, St. Vincent and Gravois Greenways.

“Our goal is to welcome people who are new or newly returning to bicycle riding to the greenways,” says Elizabeth Simons, Great Rivers Greenway Community Programs Manager. “Each ride will start with a bike safety and trail etiquette briefing and include fun facts about the greenway.”
