Join Open Space Council for a Honeysuckle Hack at Gravois Creek Conservation Area
Saturday, December 2, 2023 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Help the Community Stewardship Alliance enhance Gravois Creek Conservation Area by hacking some invasive bush honeysuckle! Bush honeysuckle prevents development of native tree, shrub, and ground layer species, displacing native species by out-competing and shading the forest floor and depleting the soil of moisture and nutrients. Join passionate, like-minded volunteers in the removal of this invasive species at Gravois Creek Conservation Area!
Come hack some honeysuckle! Volunteers do not need any conservation experience and are encouraged to come and learn. Volunteers will be provided with all necessary tools and supplies. Gravois Creek Conservation Area is a 13.7 acre natural area is owned and maintained by the Missouri Department of Conservation and is the newest Community Stewardship Alliance site, with volunteer ambassadors leading restoration efforts. This is an ongoing effort, so check back again for future opportunities!
