Monarch-Chesterfield Levee District temporarily closing two 200-foot sections of greenway beginning in mid-January 2020 to accommodate work on pump stations
The Monarch-Chesterfield Levee District will close two separate 200-foot sections of the Missouri Greenway: Monarch Chesterfield Levee to accommodate improvements to pump stations. The first closure is located just north of the Long Road interchange on Interstate 40. It will close January 14, 2020 and is expected to reopen in late April 2020. (Like all construction projects, these timelines are weather dependent.) Greenway users will still be able to use the greenway on both sides of the closure but will not be able to the access the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex (CVAC) Trailhead from the Rivers Edge Park Trailhead and vice versa. The closure is located approximately 1 mile west of the Rivers Edge Trailhead and approximately 1.7 miles east of the CVAC Trailhead.
The other closure is on Edison Road approximately a quarter of a mile west of the intersection of Edison Road and Baxter Road. This section of the greenway will close January 20, 2020 and weather permitting, is expected to reopen in mid-July 2020. Greenway users will be able to utilize the greenway on both sides of the closure but will not be able to access Baxter Road from the Edison Road Trailhead and vice versa. The closure is located approximately a quarter mile west of Baxter Road and approximately 1.8 miles east of the Edison Road Trailhead.
