JOB POSTING: Structural Engineering Intern

Great Rivers Greenway is seeking a structural engineering intern to perform field visits to bridges and structures throughout the jurisdiction and collect data. The intern will record observations, collect measurements and photographs throughout St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County under the direction of the Greenway Operations Manager. JOB POSTING: Seasonal Staff

Great Rivers Greenway is seeking several Seasonal Field Staff to join our team for summer 2017 (May-August). The seasonal staff perform greenway operations and maintenance work throughout St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County under the direction of the Greenway Operations Supervisor. These positions are supported in part by a partnership with CityArchRiver Foundation and a portion of the work will be completed in collaboration with partner organizations including City of St. Louis Parks and Streets staff, landscape contractors and volunteers.  Duties include landscape care, facility maintenance, and conservation project work. JOB POSTING: Pollinator Ecology Internships

St. Louis University, in partnership with Great Rivers Greenway, will host 3-4 internship positions for the summer of 2017, focusing on pollinator diversity in urban environments in the city of St. Louis, MO.  The work will consist of monitoring, collecting, labeling, and quantifying pollinator diversity and abundances in areas maintained and managed by the Great Rivers Greenway District.  Applicants must be able to work Monday through Friday, 9:30am to 1:00pm, AND be comfortable working with insects, especially bees. No prior experience is needed, but knowledge of insect biology or urban ecology is a plus. Length of the internship can vary from 4 to 10 weeks.  Successful applicants will receive hands on training in insect collecting and taxonomy, curatorial methods, biodiversity database, and basic urban ecology research methods. The positions will likely begin in May and run through mid-August.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS: Dardenne Greenway, Bluebird Meadow Prairie

Great Rivers Greenway wishes to convert approximately 34 acres of property operated as a sod farm until spring 2017 to a native mesic prairie. The sod is being removed in March and April and the site will be vacated by May 1, 2017. The District is soliciting proposals from firms with demonstrated ability to undertake the establishment of mesic prairie habitat along the Dardenne Creek and other tasks as necessary to ensure the successful establishment and longterm success of this natural environment.

SCOPE OF SERVICES: The initial establishment of the prairie at Bluebird Meadows involves site preparation and native seeding activities to begin in May 2017 and occurring thru December 31, 2017. After this initial establishment period in 2017, the District intends to extend a contract with the selected contractor for two additional years of stewardship/establishment for the 2018 and 2019 calendar years. The Contractor shall submit a proposal and fee schedule for the services specified in this scope of work as well as rates for services outside of this scope to be approved on an as-needed basis by District staff.

Submittals are due by 11:00 AM Central Standard Time on Thursday March 30, 2017.

Great Rivers Greenway issues a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to create a Vendor List for professional services for the following categories:  Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Engineering, Surveying and Planning.   The lists are good for two years with the current list set to expire at the end of 2017.
